    Hi.
I'm thinkin of getting a new dell laptop. I priced one on dell.ie and it came to around €800. I then tried pricing the same laptop on dell.co.uk and after converting to euro, it came to around €600. For the exact same package. I'm not sure if they ship to ireland.
    Does anyone know the policy?
    And would shipping be expensive?
I've asked them, but they told me to email someone else, who hasn't got back to me yet.
Any info would be great thanks :)

Dell only ship to the address your credit card is registered to.

And only to a UK address from the UK site.

We are going to see a lot more of this as the Euro and Sterling approach parity. Remember the two prices will never be identical as there are differences in VAT between the two countries.

However the shipping sould be similar if not cheaper as the notebooks are built in Ireland.

Can't find anything on the site to say they don't ship here but i suppose no-one would buy from the irish site if they do.

Hi phi3 try it by all means worst that can happen is that someone says no, but as I used to work in IT come from the UK and have friends in Ireland who have both UK and IRL addresses I have seen it ALL before.

Even before the near parity exchange rate friends from the UK living over here have had to have Dell computers from the UK website sent to their UK address even though they had a perminent Irish address. On one occasion even to get the computer at UK prices one friend had to get his credit card company to change his registered address back to his UK address before Dell would sell at UK prices and send to a UK address.

However given the mess that Dells in atm re: job looses in Ireland its always possible someone might not give a &^%&^% and send it from the UK to Ireland anyway. I've seem more than a few Dell &^%^ ups in the past including several double delivery's which were never charged for or returned so anything is possible ;)
