    Hey all

I have one of these (E220 type) about 14-15 months, works fine most of the time but in the last day or so, I've noticed that I seem to have difficulty in getting a signal.

I have noticed that the connection where the cable plugs into the modem has become "loose". If i jiggle the cable around a bit I'll get a signal. Has anyone had a similar problem and is it a case of buying a new modem?

All comments and suggestions welcome. thanks.

Yes, I have to be very careful with mine now too, though more so at the laptop USB connector, than where the cable plugs into the modem. Try using a different USB cable, a new one might fit in better, and it could be the cable that's more of a problem.

Thanks for the quick reply, tried a different cable, the problem seems to be at the modem end..

It could be that there is not enough power going to the modem. When I bought my E220 modem it came with two cables. The first one had just one usb connecter while the second canle had two usb connections so that you could plug it in to 2 usb ports just in case one port might not be enough to power the modem. It might be worth trying this too. I find sometimes that my connection will completly drop off as well for a reason unknown to me but will eventually return.
