    Anyone try this out? http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/

I've been p*&&^%g around with Tveristy and WMP11 for last week and no joy. I installed this and heah presto, no messing about and works straight off.

Looks interesting, but I use my ps3 as a DLNA/UPnP client rather than a server as I find the hd space limited.

I prefer instead to leave the DLNA/UPnP server to a dedicated box (Qnap in my case) so that I can store more media on it (1tb as opposed to 320gb max at present on the 2.5" laptop drive).

Nice to see the protocols developed upon though. I enjoy streaming pics to the tv and playing music separately at the same time.

This has been out a while!

    duely noted.

It still falls short of _my_ media space requirements, but with the software linked by the OP it could make a decent media server for a smaller media library.

I still think that when you go down the media server route, you will run out of space quicker than you think, so I wanted an upgradable NAS based system for the rest of the prospective clients.
