had i have known this site was here long ago i'd have it sorted..

i need help.. im a Necrophobic
this means i have a fear of death.

i regularly have panic attacks and just completely freak out when i think about it, i know it is inevitable and its gotta happen.. i cant cope with that really to be honest, all i think is "whats after death".. nothin.. non existance..
now i know a lot of people will read this and think im crazy, but quite honestly this is putting a huge shadow over my life, it stops me living my life to the full and taking risks.. i have been like this as far back as i remember and have only recently discussed it with a friend..

But my question is, does any one else suffer with this or has done in the past and had it cured???

really love to hear some feedback from yas..

You might not want to hear this, but sometimes religion or spirituality will help you to cope with things like this. Helps me anyway.

    Hey there.

You're going to need some help to alter your mind set. So maybe you should start off with writing down all the things you plan to achieve in life.

I'm guessing that the people who don't achieve much in their lives are always the ones who are terrified of dying. An' people who know they have lived life to the full are much more able to face the thought that one day life will end.

So concentrate on making your life as happy and fulfilled as possible.

I don't usually post in this forum so hope this is of some help to ya :p

What age are you if you do not mind saying? I know someone who suffers this who is in their forties. they get panic attacks too. some times they get chest pain and think they are dying but it is only anxiety the doc says. they say however that a day will come when it won't be only anxiety and suffer intense anxiety and fear

I get a bit of this too, caused by my fear of leaving my girlfriend and kids to fend for themselves.
Was told I had high Cholesterol about 2 years ago, and about 5 weeks later I was light headed one day and thought I was having a stroke / heart attack and felt sheer panic.
As another poster said, it is anxiety related, the fear of the worst happening but despite a few suggestions over the years, I still suffer now as much as ever. Can be closely related to OCD too, not sure if you've ever had this?

Do you ever ask yourself what's the point of life?

I sometimes have thoughts like this tbh, not panic attacks, i sometimes just...dwell on it. Like we work 5 days a week. Most of our lives our spent working just to scrape by in life. 30 years to pay off a mortgage on a house?! I'm pretty much a dead man by the time! That depresses me when I think about it. You spend your whole life doing the same job and for what??

I know that's not what you were saying or having problems with but I can kind of relate to what your saying!
