    This thread succeeds!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,593 ✭✭✭Sea Sharp

Depending on how you interpret it. If you suggest "fail the task" as the task then he succeeded. If you just leave it as task, then he failed it.

    Obviously

    Which came first.....

The chicken or the egg? :p

    Aaa what? I'm lost!

Who the heck tries to fail and where can I find the sad sod to put him out of his pain!

Taking evolution into consideration, that depends on when chickens first evolved. Probably speaking, laying eggs was a habit of the chickens ancestors, therefore the egg came first. As the term 'egg' doesn't necessarily have to be a chicken egg

    Obviously

the question is flawed. it can however be broken down into two parts. he succeeds at the task in hand which in this case was failing..so yes he succeeds, however as he was tryin to fail, he does fail. the two are not linked as such.

take the question as if a man tries to X and succeeds does he succeed?? obvious answer. the fact that X = failure does not change the simplicity of the answer imo...

oh and the chicken came first of course...its like asking which came first the human or the feutus?? feutus couldnt exist without the human so easy answer really

The real question is if he fails at failing can we post a fail pic?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,613 ✭✭✭mormank

oh and just to knock another one of these silly questions out of the park...if a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around to hear it does it make a sound??? that old nugget..answer = no. it makes a vibration which then in the presence of a persons ear is converted into sound by the ear drum so the answer is no it does not make a sound...

    any other silly questions???

No it's not. The egg the very first chicken came from, would have came from something that was not quite a chicken. It came from a creature that was an evolutionary step behind the chicken.

What happens if there is a microphone recording in the forest the day the tree falls. There is still no-one about to hear it but if you listen to the recording of that day you will hear a sound.

You shouldn't have to try to fail, you either have it or you don't.

exactly. is evolution really that difficult to comprehend? ;)

The next easy question on the end of year test is:

Write in 400 words or less a workable solution to the Middle East crises in relation to the Afghanistan war and the Iraq invasion. Please explain how they all have simple road maps for peace and explain who's doing the driving on them! Please use graphs where necessary.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,080 ✭✭✭✭Random

Please see here. Your question is null and void.

    Two words.....John Rambo.

You can use the other 398 words as makeshift bodybags.

    Easy. Nuke 'em all.

A clean start might be the only eventual solution. I can't see it ending any other way.
I won't ask what started it all (that would just be starting another long argument line of opinion posts)
...but just when did all this mess kick off and how long has it been going on?

Update: on further thought, this is not the thread for this serious stuff.
I withdraw the question. Heck, I'm still popping out of my bunker to post once in a while.

Every man must fail to succeed. A man who has not failed, has not accomplished anything.

First attempts at success must first result in failure. All capitalism depends upon it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,097 ✭✭✭Darragh29

For example, I failed with a bird last night in a nightclub, but I sure as fu*k succeeded when Yore Ma turned up at me gaff in the early hours of da morning!

The "Yore Ma" phenomenon is, as I understand, unique to boards and not to be taken personally.

It can be used, again I am uncertain of this, in response to almost anything and with the protagonist exempt from questions regarding their maturity/taste/tact and so on.

I have not used it myself, I am saving it for a special occasion.
