When is it, the begining of 2010 or 2011?

And what will you call it? The teens sounds nice, but it's technically not true until you hit 2013.

its strange, why were the '20s, '30s, '40s referred to as twenties, thirties, forties etc when the 10's wernt referred to as the ten's?

will we call the next decade the tens?

Actually the end of the decade is 31st December 2010. There was no year 0 as the Romans never had a zero so ten years goes from 1-10, 11-20 etc. Only the Global representitives "decided" that the new millennium was 2000 instead of 2001 as the hype had begun before it was copped.

That doesn't make sense. That reasoning would have all of 1930 being in the 1920s.

A decade is a period of ten years, anyway. One starts and finishes everyday.

It'll be the teenies, this is the naughties.

The important question though. Are you gonna call 2010 "Twenty Ten" or "Two Thousand and Ten".

If the latter becomes accepted, then in 50 years time it will be the
"One Thousand Nine Hundred and Sixteen Rising"
and the Prince song will become:
"I'm gonna party like it's One Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety Nine"

Somebody please think of the children!!!

LOL. That old nugget? Are you in your 20s when you hit 23 or 20? Just because it doesn't have the teen sound doesn't mean squat.

True IF you mean any 10 years as a decade but if you mean decades from the start of years A.D then this one ends at the end of 2010 or else the first "decade" only lasted 9 years.

Somebody's grandparents must know what it was called back then.

The decade will end on the last day of 2009, in much the same way that the last decade ended on the last day of 1999.

When are we gonna start using stardates like Captain Kirk did??

But which decade did we cut a year off then? 1-9?

Tbh, it should be this decade.

Can't say it was that great, the first few years were alright, but then it just got ****e, tbh.

I mean, for the most part it was all just more bad news.

Who's hoping the world ends with 2009, so we don't have to call the next decade the "teenies"???
