Any 3cx that is running and working would make this easily in scrap parts...

You are probably as well off hitting the UK auctions.

Be warned, gearboxes sometimes give trouble in these and when the oil gets hot enough you will loose forward drive (could be torque converter/fluid clutches i cant remember what exactly)

For that money I think you would do better with something like a Ford 655 or 555 in reasonably good nick. Probably one with a manual gearbox too.

    i had a 1988 3cx,wouldn't move
the problem was a little mesh filter in underneath it was blocked with crap from being idle
i had to drain the transmission fluid to clean it but it was flying it after

    i sold it on

on the subject of diggers,i want to suggest a forum for them on here.it would be great

the old manual shuttle gearboxes are the ones that give trouble .
the 1986 upwards have the powr shuttle and dont give trouble if atv fluid is kept topped up and as oflynno said the mesh filter.
you wont buy a 4wd 3cx in good shape for 5000.
