I'm in two minds whether to but a stand alone Blu Ray Player or a PS3. While doing a bit of research, I saw that Sony is planning to add a feature that allows you to transfer your Blu Ray movies to your PSP through the PS3. Is there any other cool features like this in store in the near future.

Its hard to tell what else will be added to the bluray experience. I suppose the next logical step is a bluray recorder, something that allows to record tv onto blu-ray disc. There are likely to be copyright issues there, though.

If i were you, and was never going to use the ps3 as a gaming machine, i'd go for the standalone player that would be around half the price.

    Can I pre-order now? :D

Anyway it all depends on what you plan to do on the PS3?
Do you "download" movies, tv shows etc? These can all be stored on the PS3's hard drive which is the reason I bought one.

Ya I might just buy a stand alone player, but if the future looks bright for the PS3 I might buy one.

You can get a ps3 with play TV (hooks up to your aerial/sattelite dish) and I think you can download music soon, and currently fillums off the USA store

PlayTV only works in the UK (although I think there is an Australian one coming out that will work here-Is this right?). Movie downloads would be nice alright but the prices will probably be outrageous, like on Xbox Live.
