The sixaxis that came with the PS3 when I bought the bundle nearly a year ago has just decided to stop working all together,well,it works when attached via a usb cable.
I bought it in tesco..so,if I bring back the controller and the receipt for the PS3 I bought how likely is it that they will replace it there and then?

or will they just fob me off to sony?

As you bought it over a year ago and the fact that it's Tesco I wouldn't expect much joy. You're better off contacting Sony directly who may or may not help you out in some way.
