Postie just delivered my new guitar. Picked it up on the ishibashi ubox for an absolute steal!! It's a used Edwards E-LP-130 though it looks like it was never played. Edwards' top of the line les paul. I'm lost for words on this one. I've had a vintage tokai reborn (supposedly the best tokai les pauls) and this thing blows it away completely. The sound is just amazing and the sustain!! wow. Specs are below:

    - 1 piece African mahogany body (no weight relief)
    - 1 piece neck - the same wood as the body with rosewood fingerboard.
    - Deep neck joint and the long tenon
    - Neck shape in between 50 chunky and 60 slim
    - Solid maple
    - Flame maple veneer
    - Bone nut
    - The only Edwards model to offer an all-nitro finish
    - Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups
    - 4 CTS 500k-A pots, 2 foil and oil capacitors, Switchcraft 3 way switch.
    - Gotoh Tune-O-Matic bridge with Gotoh stop tailpiece (both lightweight aluminum)
    - Gotoh Kluson Deluxe tuners

And now for the obligatory gear shots:

    So what say ye? :pac:

Cheers lads. An edwards LP has been on the list for about 2-3 years. Was gonna get the 98lts but this came up at the right time and at an unbelievable price so had to jump at it and deffinitely glad I did. I actually missed this one on the ubox but the buyer pulled out and Ace emailed me to offer me the guitar since I had also enquired about it :)

I make it at about €610 all in. Was pleasantly surprised when I wasn't charged any customs :) Had my wallet out ready to pay the postman. haha. The pickups alone are nearly €300 from thomann and all the electronics/tuners/bridge etc are top notch

Serious guitar there man!!. How does it sound?. Any sign of microphonics in the pickups?.

    Insane bargain too :).

Nope. The pickups sound great. Very impressed with the clarity and sound of them. The whole thing just resonates beautifully and even basic chords you can hear each individual string. Great overtones and harmonics

I'm not a fan of relics but I love the classic look. It's amazing for what you paid. Bravo, sir.

Not a huge fan of relics either tbh but its the only way to get those specs on an edwards. It's not an overkill relic job though. The pickup covers have a worn look and theres a small mark at the pickup switch then its really just the little faded bit at the edge. The pickups are a little annoying because the tuners, bridge and stoptail are all shiny and new looking. Might replace the pickup covers to match the rest

Long neck tenon, African mahogony, SD pups, bone nut, Gotoh bridge, the desirable "in between '50s thick & '60s slim neck profile" and all for €610 ? 610 wouldn't even get you a shoe lace made from Epiphone out of Waltons!!

Nice guitar, how long did delivery take after you'd place the order and how long was it held up at customs ?

    Me wanty

For the record bought a Tokai mij Custom Les Paul for about 900euro from a place in England. It blows my old LP Studio out of the water and I would be very interested to hear how the edwards would sound next to it. The tokai just blew me away when I played it but I hear great things about edwards
