    The PIRA already met and talked with the British govt in clandestine talks held earlier in the 1970s.

    No big secret nowadays.

    True. But as a researcher myself it's always great to have official papers released to support what previously had been "known" but not yet textually supported.

    It was Peter Taylor's (the great BBC journo) coverage of the North which documented it for me.
