i'm considering my options in the mudguard department as i get plastered in crud every time i go out on wet roads.

    these sks ones seem popular.

however, i'm not so sure i could fit them to my bike which is a cannondale r700. what do you guys think?

or are there alternative mudguards which i could fit?

    thanks for your help,

    colm

I don't know about these ones, but the Race Blades are what a lot of us have. they are adjustable and I use the same set them on all my bikes as they are very easy to remove.

The SKS Chromoplastics are very good (I have them on my tourer) but is unlikely that you would get them onto your Cannondale- you probably would not have the clearance under the brakes and frame, or for that matter eyelets to attach the stays. Like Caroline I use Race Blades on my bikes that don't fit full length guards.

    oops ... one more question!

i'm using 700 x 25 conti gator duraskins at the moment.

wiggle says the standard race blades fit 700 x 18-23 tyres and the xl race blades fit 700 x 23-32.

are the xl blades much more bulky? would 700 x 25 tyres be ok in the standard blades or would you go for the xl version?

    thanks again for your help,

I use the standard blades on my fixie with 700x25 tires and they're fine. I am not sure how much bigger the XL are, bu the diference between 23 & 25 tires is not that big.
