ipod & new laptop

    Hi all

    I have a desktop with itunes and a ipod classic. i got a new laptop and downloaded itunes onto it. i went to put all the songs from the ipod onto the laptop but itunes wont let me..all it does is ask do i want to erase the content and it just leaves the purchased songs on it.

    What the f##k am i doing wrong or is it a great feature of itunes?

    You can't move songs from your iPod though iTunes alone, you'll need some other software, try SharePod

    Or...read the FAQ (it's stickied at the top of this sub-forum) In there it gives you a few software options or a method to get all your stuff from the ipod without needing additional software....I always found the latter to be the easiest.

    in itunes, it gives you the option to back up to CD, then re install ituens on your new laptop and back up from the created CD.

    it should transfer all your collection over then.

    i have never done this yet, so would be intrested in your outcome however to proceed, as i reakon i will have to get a new laptop/pc within the following year and thus all my music will have to be swapped.
