As long as it all fits in the one bag and you don't break any of the current "security" rules about toothpaste and other such dangerous substances you can take whatever you like.

Thanks I know about Richard Reid.

I still fail to understand how any intelligent human being could think that shoes would not be allowed in the cabin by either being worn on your person or carried in hand luggage.

These type of questions in general are always quite bizarre when definite information can usually be found on the website of the departure airport or the departure airline.

You're allowed bring upto size 43 shoes onboard. Anything else has to be checked. Except for open sandals (where you can't hide anything) and then the limit is up to size 48.

    It's a (bad) joke

Ah, I thought it was a good joke. But then I would . . .

Having said this, it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that some security people might try to enforce this type of stuff.

I never bother with any of that putting stuff in a separate bag for them, and the "security" people never notice or care anyway. Waste of time faffing about with transferring stuff between those silly bags all the time.

Dublin is the only airport I've seen where they give you the bags for free though, most other places I've been through now have vending machines selling you those bags whilst your queuing up to go through the scanner.

In some airports they are now weighing and checking the size of hand luggage.
