    Can't find the answer to this I'm a bit lost when it comes to Modem's
    I have old Eircom Netopia modem connecting broadband to desktop
    at the moment, It has 2 ports USB and Ethernet I'm using the Ethernet
    for Desktop.Got a laptop which is wireless enabled.What do I need
    to connect the laptop to the Netopia modem (wireless) or can It be
    done with this modem.Would I get whats required in Peats?

    is there an ariel sticking up at the back of the modem, if not is it the box it came with? You may already have everthing you need, did you search for available wireless networks on your laptop?

    No. the old Modem I have is just wireline no ariel.Was thinking could I get a wireless something..to plug into it.

    I don't think you can, if you get down to your nearest eircom resleller you should be able to pick up a wireless router for €24.99, they might even upgrade your broadband and bring down your phone bill (maybe) either way you can pick up the router in a shop right now....
