    o.k so EMc states that matter and energy are one in the same, I like to think of Energy condensed or compressed into Mass, but problem therein that what then keeps energy as energy and mass as mass. Surely with EMc they should be in a state of flux, which means your face made of energy compressed at a ration of c^2 should explode.
    One thing Einstein forgot or decided to equate to zero was the (W)ork or activation energy that keeps everything from going mushroom cloud-ular. This work is only zero at point of explosion in a nuclear bomb or reactor. The equation now reads E=Mc^2 +/-W.
    Does anyone know what this W constant is?

    further more due to pair production to write the equation in a realistic way it now looks like this 2E=Mc^2+ Mc^2 +/- W.

    Hi Smegmar,

    You seem to have gone off the deep end a little here. The E=mc^2 equation is actually not the full equation. The full equation reads E^2 = p^2 c^2 + m^2 c^4. The equation doesn't imply any kind of spontaneous transfer of energy. It simply means that mass has an energy associated with it. So if a particle has no energy then it must also have no momentum or mass, and hence there is no particle. Work doesn't come into this at all.
