Issuing invoices/receipts-self employed

    Hi All,
Let's say I am already registered as self employed /sole trader/. My customers are both- companies and personals. For services provided I will issue invoices to the companies and respectively - receipts to personal(physical) customers.
Do I need an electronic device /with fiscal memory etc./ to issue receipts or I can just write them?
Generally - What are the requirements issuing a receipt (and keeping records of them) when acting as a sole trader?
    Thanks.

You can just use a duplicate book and get a rubber stamp made with your company name and vat number on it.
That is all ive used for the last four years with no problems.

Agreed the format doesnt matter as long as you retain proof of the reciept and keep your books correctly.

All invoices must have a unqiue nr to identify them and cos are obliged to keep all financial records for at least 7 years.

Your name or company name. PPs not needded. They cannot claim vat from you as your not charging vat.

The professional way to do it would be on headed paper, printed electronically. Looks better than producing same handwritten. You should also produce a system for tracking same (i.e every customer should have an account e.g BOI001 could represent Bank of Ireland Group, BOI002 could represent Bank of Ireland Life and so on). Each reciept could then be numbered e.g BOI001 Reciept No. 1 etc)
