Has anyone used Home? I think its ok not great right now but I imagine it'll improve. The shopping centre is pretty empty and the movie trailer are kind of low-res. Does look cool though:D

I've haven't used it a lot. Theres nothing to do in it, the cinema is never updated etc. It needs to improve big time if they want it to take off.

I've used it once or twice I was pretty impressed with whole idea of it,but as #2 post said 'Theres nothing to do in it' that's basically what Im thinking aswell.

They should have rooms/area's setup aswell for every country, that would be sweet. :D

Is it just me or is the American version of home better (better home square and access to game-specific areas (only uncharted, Socom and fc atm)?

I'm cheesed with the amount of non english speaking users on home/europe

Presumably the beta doesn't have the capability to sort out different ip addresses and countries ,it use to though before the open beta started.
It has come a long way though ,even from the closed beta a while back. The sound is far better and there isn't as many people getting disconnected.

First time I used home I was reported to Sony for 'stalking'. Got banned from Home for 1 week.

Apparently if you go within 10 feet of a female on home you are a stalker :D.

    Thats absolutely hillarous !!!!

I like the whole idea of play but i still dont use it a lot. Like someone else mentioned in this thread, There is nothing to do in there.
I sincerely hope that sony will do something about it to make it more interesting.

N.B: Coming to think about it, What changes do you think Sony could bring about to make HOME better? I cant think of anything !!!

There was nothing to do when it first launched, but now there are plenty of spaces with little mini games and the Cinema has some pretty good trailers from time to time and they were showing some Robot Chicken last time I was on. There's the Red Bull Air Race and Soap Box thingy; the Buzz quiz space (actually a lot of fun I think); the SingStar space, the EA Sports place has poker, a DJ rhythm game, golf and racing; the PlayStation Events space runs every now and then with weird games to play that if you complete give you some weird costume or decoration; and then there are all the game dedicated spaces that are kind of cool and have their own little mini games. When the alternate reality game Xi was on I was using Home nearly every day, that was a really cool use of Home that I hope to see implemented again in the future.

When Home version 1.3 comes out (soon) there will be universal games launching so you'll be able to meet up with people in Home and launch directly into any game, instead of just a select few. I don't think you'll automatically be in the same squad or party though or something like that, which is something that I wish they could add.

I use Home maybe once a week when I'm bored, I watch some trailers and check out some of the mini games or events going on. I can see myself using it more if they added some more useful functionality and more spaces, and I'd visit it a lot if they added more stuff to watch in the cinema (Robot Chicken is a good start).

Better netcode, content streaming (so you don't have to load/download things all the time... work it like GTA without long load times) and a better way to jump into games from it. Also linking it to facebook/twitter would be good as far as a social networking aspect goes.

The loading thing is my main gripe. It cuts out a lot of people who simply don't want to wait. The community could be a lot more active with more community-orientated aspects but we'll see if they do anything when (hopefully) facebook integration arrives to PS3...

Version 1.3 will address all this, it was supposed to be released 'in September', so I'm guessing it's been delayed. You can set up a cache on your hard drive so that spaces and content will stream better. It'll also have universal game launching so you can jump into any game from it. 1.3 adds a bunch of stuff.

Obviously they looked into the future and saw my post. I should charge a future consulting fee. :p

    :D

I guess a lot of people must of had the same complaints so that's why they're being addressed. They should display people's trophy levels beside peoples PSN above the avatar's head. It would also be cool if your avatar could 'level up' with your trophy level somehow, but I'm not sure how feasible a feature like that is.

Set up a new user on your PS3 (far left of the XMB main menu). Log into that user account and then go over to the PSN part of the XMB and set up a new PSN account, just make sure to set your country as United States.

    I'm a Homeophobe ;)

Seem's like a big waste of resources really. Wonder what differences will be made when it comes out of Beta., probably just shut it down.

It made $1 million in it's first few months from microtransactions alone, so I don't think it will be going anywhere. I bet they make some money from advertising as well.

The 1.3 update will be out tomorrow:

    http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/09/playstation-home-v1-3-coming-thursday-new-central-plaza-neptune-suite-and-more/

"Universal Game Launching. Come this Thursday, you’ll be able to launch from Home into any game whose disc you have loaded into your PS3."

    Pretty sweet.

The best feature about Home that appealed to me was the ability to share media on our hdd's with our friend lists.

So we could say watch a film together etc.
Unfortunatly the feature got pulled out for copyright reasons:mad:

If this was still implemented then I would be more inclined to buy stuff for my home space
