Right, I have a tube of the following Lithium Grease:

I use is liberally around the bike for everything... is this a good idea, or are there other, 'specific' greases I should use (for example, if I wanted to pack bearings in a BB in grease, would this be suitable, or is there another, fancier one I should use?

I also use that with abandon. Asked Dave in Joey D if it was good and he said it's what they use.

Use copper grease on threaded components to prevent them siezing.

As far as I am aware you only need to use copper grease with titanium; I've always used lithium grease for anything myself and no problems so far (I have never had to pack BB bearings mind.)
