Hi guys if anyone can help me on either of these topics I't be so appreciated.
The first problem is my, or any other computer, won't recongnize a new Toshiba 500G drive. I can't take it back, it was a present. Its just becoming a paper weight.
The second is my key drive 4G won't work on college computers. The tech has no idea. The problem is that its somehow formatted itself as a FAT file. and Autoplay is the only way it will run!! Some of our computers have disabled Autoplay (no idea why).

I'm pretty good at computers as tech knowledge goes so cmd isn't a problem.
    Thanks in advance.

Right click My Computer > Manage > Disk Management

Are the drives appearing in there ?

For the Toshiba nothing! The key appears there alright. The usb connection must be gone.

    Hmm ok.

On the Pen Drive right click and format it to whichever file format you want. That should cure your problem with the pen drive.

As for the toshiba... Have you tried another USB Cable just to rule out the cable, its not unknown of for the USB cable to give up due to a break in the line etc...
