Canon G10 for €310

The Australian Dollar has dropped compared to the Euro even more than the Pound. So I has a look at the place I have bought things from in Australia in the past.

They have the G10 for $639 (incl 10% tax) which converts to ~ €310

The 10% GST should come off but there will be Postage. There may be VAT on the way in here too, but still a very good price.

I don't get the appeal.

Why not just buy a P&S for half the price? Or am I missing something?

It's a very good quality P&S, still lacking a bigger sensor, but apart from that, has some very advanced features.

I got one cos of all the commotion i heard abt it here, but its actually pants IMO

quite bulky, not so great Ap range, and crappy noise control over 200
Takes decent P&S snaps, but sure a compact P&S does that anyways!

Sell it off and pick up a Canonet GIII instead.

40mm 1.7 lens, 25-3200 iso, full frame, quiet, nice bright viewfinder, fits in the pocket, a bit heavy, but all in all, perfect!
