Hi all , hope you had a Merry Christmas ,

    I've had a samsung mp3 yp-z5 for about 18 months , no problems until now .
I've tried to reset it a few times but I've still a problem.

When I connect it to the pc ( xp ) it shows mtp connected & charging ok.
I open windows media player (wmp) & synch & refresh devices.
BUT wmp does not find the samsung mp3 .

Is the samsung mp3 stuffed or is there a fix.

    Any ideas.
thanks a lot for any suggestions.

    Solution...

With the mp3 turned off , connect it to the pc with samsung usb cable.

Press the 'return ' button ( the button on the outer ring , directly under the display ) and the power on/off button at the same time.

This will connect mp3 to the pc in "usb/usm" mode instead of the usual "mtp" mode.
This means the pc sees the mp3 player as a usb storage device & you can drag/drop items into mp3 players folders.

In the samsung settings there is an option for "usm mode only" , normally set at off . Change this to ON & then u can connect mp3 to pc in usual manner, without needing to press 'return' button.

    good luck.
