Buddy of mine is having problems with his Sky and Sky+ boxes.

On the sky+ box sound is coming through but no picture and on the sky box nothing is happening at all.
No settings have been changed or anything and the boxes haven't been touched either. All cables appear to be connected too.

Any ideas? Could the dish be slightly out of allignment or would it be somthing different.

    Thanks

Its usually a problem with the scart connection so give the scart a gentle push on either end. However I have come across this on std boxes a few times and had to do a software upgrade to sort it.

So if necessary do the following
    Unplug for 2 mins
Find and hold the backup button whilst returning the power lead
keep backup button pressed and until box lights up on front display

wait for software to update and box will reset and hopefully solve problem.

He said that the software update didnt work and the person who he was onto in sky told him the same but to no avail. So they said they'd send out an engineer next wednesday - 5 days without tv. Fun

Could be a scart problem. Have you made sure the scarts are in the right place..i.e Scart from Tv goes in to "Tv Scart"
