Azathioprine(imuran) and other drugs

    Hello all, just looking for some medical input.
    My pharmacist recently informed my mother that taking Azathioprine(imuran) along with either prednisolone steroids or nexium(Esomeprazole) (I'm not sure which of the latter two he was referring to but it was one of them) is a serious health risk and he was aware of one person who died from taking both courses of prescribed drugs. Is this true? Any help is appreciated :)

    oh by the way, I haven't combined either of them, just curious

    We can't give out personal medical advice here.

    I don't know the answer to your question, but I'd be wary of listening to someone who says it's safe if your pharmacist has told you otherwise.

    You know who your pharmacist is. You don't know who any of us are!

    Go and see your GP.
