Hi all, hope you all had a good Christmas.

Booted up my mac Mini this morning and got the main chime followed by shorter chimes, with a grey screen. Had a look around various boards, forums etc and it seems pretty rare, with no answers.

    Its a Mini C2D 2GHz, 2GB RAm(Apple factory fit) Superdrive, running 10.5.5

Have tried to reset PRAM, OF, Single user, verbose, System Disk etc, but it just keeps chiming. Unplugged everything from it, FW, USB etc, and left power cord out for 10 minutes. Same thing. Even though its not beeps, I opened it up, took out the 2 Ram sticks and reseated them, but no effect.

Anyone got any ideas? It doesn't recognise any keyboard commands at all, it wouldn't even eject the system disk - I had to open up the SD when I cracked the case.

Did you try a Target Disc mode to see if it's able to do anything?

Yes. Its as if it won't even try to start up i.e. not recognising any keyboard commands at all.

I'd guess a HD failure seeing as another Mac won't get it working:(

I'd normally expect a flashing "?" or something like that - plus the keyboard should at least be able to boot off the Startup DVD. Think I'll get an enclosure and take out the HD to see if I can get my stuff back.
