Fancy boxing Roddy Collins?

Ever fancied giving Roddy Collins a few digs? Well here's your chance! There's a big fundraising match to help save Drogheda United on Sunday at 3pm in United Park (beside the hospital in Drogheda). A team of Drogs fans (and some ex-Drog players e.g Andy Myler, Danny O'Connor and Gary Cronin) will take on a team of St Pats fans. I rang Roddy Collins last week and he agreed to coach the Drogs team in the match (The Rod Squad II) and afterwards will box 10 x 1 minute rounds with any supporters who make a donation to the 'Save the Drogs' fund. He's bringing down headguards and 2 pairs of comedy-sized boxing gloves. Daniel McDonnell, the Eircom League correspondent of the Irish Independent has sent his regrets that he can't make it, but has donated €100 to the fund to have a Drogs fan box Roddy on his behalf! A great gesture, especially because he's a Dundalk fan! It should be a bit of fun and everyone is welcome - it's just €5 admission, and tea, coffee and sandwiches will be served afterwards. So if any of yiz fancy getting out of the house and away from the in-laws this Sunday, ye are more than welcome down. Cheers
