scart cable from ntl box to the recorder.

if have the coax cables connected properly to the recorder you should be able to tune it in no probs. just make sure you have the country set to ireland (if it asks you)

ok heres how i'd do it,

coax from wall to ntl box
coax from ntl box to recorder (rf in)
coax from recorder (rf out) to tv
using this cabling will allow you to tune the channels in on the recorder and on the tv for the regular analogue stations.

then do the following cabling to record the digital channels. the only problem with recording digital channels is that you cant change the channel on the ntl box while recording, or else you will record whatever channel its set at now.

scart from ntl box (TV output) to tv (to watch digital on your tv)
scart from recorder (tv output) to tv (to watch the recorder on your tv)
scart from ntl box (VCR output) to recorder (to get the digital signal into your recorder)

to record digital, you'd put the recorder on whatever the scart connecter is called (line 2 etc) and then press record

    that should work then

Hi Big-moe, your reply to Col007 was very helpful to me aswell. The only problem is that my set top box has only 1 scart socket & I haven't figured out the way to record digital channels yet !!:confused::confused:
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks Con.

Try decoder > recorder > TV

My recorder has pass through so when the skybox is connected to it , it will (even when off) pass through that signal to the next device i.e. the TV.
