Question about a product on ebay...

I posted this on a different forum before (outside the realm of boards.ie) but got no real help at all, so.. here goes:

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110302240294&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.ie%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm38%26_nkw%3D110302240294%26_fvi%3D1

Now... I don't want to sound like someone from the 1800's here, but.. Is that what i think it is? Is it like.. A DVD player, that just runs on files?

I read the description a few times and thats what i seem to be getting from it, but I've never heard of such a thing before.

Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? Anyone got one? Are they able to play any file types (WMV, AVI, MP4, MPG, etc.)?

Can it be used as an external hard drive? or once you put files on it can you not transfer them back?

Or am i completely wrong about what it is altogether?

So confused. Technology these days

If anyone has one, are they worth getting? best to avoid them?:confused:

PMP or personal media players have been around for a while alright
(think of your sky digital box without recieving satelite kinda)

you transfer them from your computer, that one looks like USB, you can get them networked too.
It is an external hard drive to answer your question, probably can even delete them through your TV interface.

I find them very worth while. I have an old Archos AV700, and its well worth the money i spent on it.
can be loaded up and brought away on holidays, plugged in and watched.

Alot handier than 150 DVDs stacked on your self too.

So you'd recommend going for it? Are there any problems im likely to run into with it at all? Any common file types they don't play or anything like that?

Is there much hassle involved in getting it connected to your TV?

I have a ton of random unknown TV shows on my hard drive, but it gets annoying and uncomfortable looking at the monitor for so long, so if i bought a new tv and put it on the other side of the room, I reckon i could use this to watch the stuff on the TV. But things just tend to never work out as simply as i'd like them to :(

Thanks for the help, by the way :)
