Do you unplug your UPC box?

Just wondering if people unplug their UPC TV box at night instead of leaving it on stand-by? The reason I don't is that its startup process seems quite lengthy, and I don't know if there's some network reason that I should leave it plugged in?

I leave mine plugged in - start up time takes an age. Just put it on standby when your leaving it to save a few cents on power.
Network reason to leave it plugged in? Nop, but they do update the boxes every now and again with new software/channel lists when yea unplug it and plug it back in - only happens every few months though.

I unplug mine every night unless I need to record something.

I put a power meter on it once and it pulls a lot of power even in standby.

Sent it back to UPC. DVR was a bit crappy IMO.

I have Sky+ and I leave it plugged in all the time.
I plug out other stuff but a DVR, sure I'd never remember to plug it in and I'd miss recordings.
It takes around 30 secs to 1 min to boot up and load its listings after its been powered off also.

Does anyone else lose all their favourites when they unplug their UPC box, I lose all mine and wondering if it's a fault?

Since I've started unplugging the (non-DVR) box, I've had to type in the activation code twice. So the box is far from perfect.

Dont know why anyone would unplug the DVR at night. Does anyone unplug their fridge, fridge freezer, electric shower, central heating pump etc etc every night?....

Well the point I suppose is that with all the other stuff plugged in constantly in our gaffs, if it comes to a safety point of view, there doesn't seem much point in unplugging it.
As for the cost, yeah I suppose about €10 a year is a lot.... :D (in use and standby!

Yep, I unplug everything. Last thing at night before I go to bed I check everything electrical is unplugged, except the fridge of course and the electric shower has an off switch. It's not because of cost, I think I'm just a bit paranoid about fire.

My mother started unplugging the TV and DVR at night recently. On Monday morning the DVR was looking for the activation code
