I had my dinner yesterday. Herself was up at 10, and dinner was ready for after 7, I was working from 7am and got home just after 6.

Give her dues, I was doubtful about her abilities to cook a turkey, but damn it was good.

Now will have turkey for ages, we had a 16 lb turkey for 2 people. (I was given it from work. Took the legs off and it came to 11 lbs, big juicy legs)

Although I prefer the ham to turkey, but twas nice.

Working today again, :( but going to my sisters around 6ish for a turkey sambo.

    Reception Manager in a hotel.

Better me in than my staff, I'm nice to them, let them be with their families/loved ones etc.

Also means I don't have to pay double time AND a day in leiu, keeps my wage costs down. :pac:

Doesn't bother me much, I've worked every Christmas since I was 16 ( thats 9 years, what happened to the time!?!), with the exception of last Christmas ( I was trying out a "normal job" for a while and had the guts of 2 weeks off.) I don't mind it, its just another day, although it does cause heated arguments discussions between me and the OH, who thinks I should spend it with her.

I was also in hospital for 2 when I was younger, I swore I'd never spend another one in bed.

Off tomorrow though, which is nice, but back in for the weekend again, 5 weddings between then and new years. (Seriously though, who would want to get married at Christmas? I may be a bit, well, materialistic, but get married during the year and you get a wedding present and then you get one at Christmas as well!)

Is it the size of an elephant? 12 hours? Why do Irish people overcook everything? It'll be as dry as a dry shíte. Saw that Richard Corrigan dude poach and pan fry a crown of turkey... about an hour and a half. Looked gorgeous. The turkey, not the fat dude.

Jesus that's a long time alright. I stuff loads of butter under the skin between the breasts, it keeps the Turkey really moist and succulent.

Turkey overload. God i was sick of it before today came, only so much of it you can take.

If Christmas day is all about treats, and pampering who decided turkey was it? Where's the fillets steak, or the racks of lamb? Turkey is such a beast to cook too. Meh, next year im going with rack of lamb.

Love love love the honey roast ham though...saving grace ;)
