an ex of mine, we haven't been together in about 5 years and we only together briefly told me quote " I WAS into you" So i asked why he dumped me and he said"Its was a mixture of you being smarter than me, n me not being able to handle that AT ALL! and the fact that we were really well suited. I told you I'm a nightmare!"

My question is this: Is this a normal behaviour for guys? To dump someone cos they feel inadequate? Or is he just playin games?

After 5 years apart it may not be game playing. It sounds somewhat like the truth. Bruised ego time. Then again, who is thick enough to leave someone they feel really well suited to? Sounds like excuse talk TBH. Side order of BS too.

Are you thinking of hooking up with this guy again?

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I had an ex do the exact same thing. Went on for ages about how perfect we had been but that had scared her, and how she felt he didn't deserve me. I told her to get lost and she later admitted she just hadn't been attracted to me at the time.
Not saying he's bs-ing just cause she was now. It's just a possibility.

After 5 years why do you care?

wouldn't say game playing but not necessarily truth either...

we all try and put our little spin on the past, try make sense of it.. so if he's hiding the truth then he may well be hiding it from himself too...

the decisions made around sex life/love life imo come from quite an irrational place, from feelings, gut instinct, libido, decisions made in the moment... thats why lists of perfect partners are b*ll*x.. in reality you just want someone... or you dont

so if he's looking back using his rational thinking brain to try make sense of the past 'moments' then he might add 2 + 2 = 5

anyway did he say he wants you now and is a changed man.... or.. is he just tryin to make himself look good and innocent... you have a much better chance of telling if a person is lying face to face (caveat: if you are horny/luv'd up for him then you will fall for his lies.. a willful suspension of disbelief)

anthing could be natural for boys.. were all different
