    Hello all,

I spent my Christmas Eve morning at the Zoo! It was nice seeing as I was one of about 10 people there (that I saw!), so I practically had the place to myself.

The following are just a few taken, more can be seen here.

I was using the Canon 18-55 f3.5 (pretty much useless I thought) and the nifty fifty. I think if I go back in future I'll make sure to have a telephoto to hand!!

I'd love to hear some C&C, click for larger as per usual.

Considering what you had to work with I think they're stunning.....
Do you know when the Zoo is open again?
    I have a freebie pass/// ;)
    Never photographed there before.

Cheers dude, Zoo should be open again on the 28th.

Definitely better if you have a telephoto, everything is so far away!!

2 and 8 were the kit lens by any chance?
I have a 70-200 and a 1.4 extender so would get some coverage I guess...

I took my camera with me when I visited Washington DC zoo last week. Got some great shots, so it's well worth bringing it with you

I think they are very nicely observed photos especially with the technical difficulties with low light at this time of year- much better than my summer ones!

    I like 2 & 8

I think 2 is well observed & would do better with a bit more contrast. 8 could do with a tighter crop.

Well done with the limitations of the gear on the day.

Number 2 definitely is in need of more contrast. I used the flickr tool to increase contrast but I'm not noticing much difference tbh. I'll fix it properly when I'm not feeling lazy.

Can people see the larger versions when they click on the pictures? I'm unsure of my flickr settings, obviously I can see all sizes, including original, of the shots, but I don't know what others can see.

    Anyone else care to comment?

I'm not sure why the second one isn't showing, but it should come up if you click on it.

Clicked through to see number 2 and its a great shot, Nice set!

Just an observation I have if posting for c&c only post 3/4 and post a link to the rest, I am more inclined to comment if there are not too many, thats just my opinion and feel free to ignore :D
