    Have this model:

    TM-5400 CI+ USB & TM-5600 CI USB

I am just wondering, what channels should I generally be ablde to get? A lot of the channels are scrambled and there seems to be only the basics- bbc, sky news, CNN, a few travel and reality channels.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

You'll get free to air (FTA) channels by default.

There are loads of FTA stations.. and most are rubbish. But a good place to look is the lineup of the new freesat platform.. all these are in the clear and will be receiveable on your receiver and any generic FTA receiver.

You might consider checking if you can scan FTA-only and then opt for deleting all tuned channels and doing an FTA-only scan.. that way you will only tune in what you can actually see. An other alternative is that your receiver can order channels on FTA/scrambled type.. again another nice way to group the ones you can see.
