Just had a nice little christmas present from paypal. Went out to get a 3v this morning to buy a gift on ebay. I have a business account for the last 6 years and completed all of their verification stuff years ago. Added my 3v. account blocked. rang up. told that i can only add up to 15 cards on any one account. Explained i use 3 v prepaid cards. does'nt matter they say account now closed. Am going to have a fight on my hands to get the 30 euro i had in the account. Thankfully it wasn't more. Thankfully i gave up using it for business purposes 2 years ago due to fees.

Did they say it was "closed" or locked for fraud investigation ?
Do you have more than one Paypal account ? like personal for other use ? (thats against T&C too)

If the a/c is locked then you need to wait 30 days anyway, if its closed figure of 6mo comes to mind.

Send an email in to them using the website, hit contact us at the bottom.
Report Fraud/Prohib Use - High Risk Business/Prohibited Use Questions
That looks like it will get through to the Fraud Dept.
Explain that you have only used the PrePaid Credit Cards on your account as was advertised on the 3V website, and the PayPal main website.
You were not told that you were not allowed to have 15 credit cards active on your account.
Just ask them to reopen your account and remove the credit cards that have expired.

Simply having 15cc on the account should not close the account. lock it down to get investigated perhaps. So there might be something else in the background that they wont tell you.

Let us know how it gets on too.
I remember an issue where if you have had 15 credit cards, even if they are deleted from your account (still on your account as inactive) that it would interfere with new credit cards.

    Found this on 3v website:
"Is there a limit to the number of Vouchers I can add to my PayPal account?
Yes. PayPal limits the number of credit card numbers that can be assigned to any PayPal account to a maximum of 16 over the lifetime of an account. If you have assigned 16 3V Vouchers to your PayPal account, you will have to open a new PayPal account to continue using 3V Vouchers with PayPal."

Girl on the phone told me to open another account and was sending it "to review" which takes 3 business days:rolleyes: So i have opened a basic personal account just to pay for the item. I thought i'd been through all the bs in the past but no. i'll have a go at your idea. At this stage all i want is my 30 euro. they can sod off then as this is the final straw.

Yeah the system thinks those 3V are real Credit cards, if you ring up after you slap your 10th or so on they can reset the counter.

Just get a real credit card.

very interesting. hmm ill have to keep that one in mind so ! :)
If PP did close one account for possible fraud... just a friendly warning not to be too surprised if the system automatically sees that you are logging in with the same details to a new account and lock that one too :)

I don't need a "real" credit card. Even if i had one i would not link it to paypal. I did back in the day when i was selling. Guess what happened? A buyer claimed to have not received an item despite registered post tracking , paypal refunded the buyer and debited my "real" card.I'm just waiting for the new account to be closed:rolleyes: but at least i paid for the gift.

It comes down to two problems.
    1) no proper prepaid credit card in Ireland
    2) no practical alternatives to paypal.

    Dear jackbauer,

After further review your account has been found exempt from our credit card registration limits. Your account is fully reinstated and can register additional cards.

    Thank you for using PayPal,

    The PayPal Team

samhail looks like your email idea hit the spot. many thanks.

    nice one.

i love the way they handle charging your credit card if you had to refund someone.
they wait until you pay for an item be it 400euro or 4 euro, then charge you the entire amount.
