Hallelujah, it's Christmas

Heard the X-factor version of Hallelaujah for the first time in the taxi on the way home. Have to say, it's dire. Sounds like it was run through a Christmas muzak filter*.

To cleanse my ears, had to google a decent version after I got home. Before I found a Buckley or Coehn version, I came across a certain Amanda Jensen. Who was runner up in Pop Idol Sweden just over a year earlier. And had a muc better version of the song.

So aside from coming out with a rubbish version of the song, it's a pretty cynical cash in on something someone else tried a year ago, and did a better job of.

Think I'll buy the Buckley version tomorrow. If the X factor one finishes #1 I'll just have to ... um ...moan about it some more.

Ah the poor girl isn't that bad. The others may be better but I still liked her song.

Ah i'm happy for the girl. She deserved it. She is a good singer, you can't take that from her.

I HATE THE X FACTOR!! it's totally ruined music! And it's ruined the christmas number 1. the only point in watching the final would be so you can hear the christmas number 1 I mean lets face it as long as that shows running there's never gonna be a chance for any other artist! never mind the fact that the people that win usually only have a shelf life of 6 mths to a year (leona lewis might be an exception but for how long now cowell has his new darling) ok rant over next thread please :p:rolleyes:

Nah, just heard his version on the radio recently and it really is sublime.
As for the actual subject of this thread, from what i've heard, the less said the better i guess.

Oh my god, I just watched her on youtube. Absolute rubbish. She is so boring. I never liked the song but that was just awful. Had to turn it off.

Buckley and Cohen are by my two favourite versions by far.

I did hear another version posted over on the music forum that i hadn't listen to before and i was pleasantly surprised by it.

    Edit - This one

Why does someone always reply with what/who is that anytime there's a thread about somethin to do with reality tv? Jesus google it if you really don't know what it is, which I suspect you do.

It's already been announced that she got the Christmas number 1. Buckley's version got the number 2 spot.

But then I'd have to open a new tab.

Can't you just get into the Christmas spirit and do it for me?

True, but your sig has one of those "Official ... of the Nocturnal Forum", so your opinion is null and void.
