How is the course going? I'm interested now because I'm in industry but I always have a soft spot for UCC. Hiring is poor now, but people always hire recent grads :-)

When I was there I had:
    1st year :- boring
2nd year :- great fun, crazy deadlines, fun stuff to do
3rd year :- team project, great fun
4th year :- fyp, great fun too

I'd welcome comments, just to see if anything has changed!!

They're in the process of changing the degree and making it more appealing. (Or, making it easier).

First year now has very little actual coding, they're only doing PHP/SQL this year along with xhtml/css. I was in First year last year and we did Groovy/Java along with xhtml/css/php/SQL.

2nd year - (where I am) Seems to be still the same from what I've heard, loads of assignments and loads of deadlines. Its predicted this will change next year to facilitate for the present first years. I imagine it would be unfair to send them straight into Java/C otherwise.

    Dunno about 3rd/4th.
