Came across this article on an Irish boxing blog. What do you guys think was the highlight of the boxing year.

For me it was McCloskeys performance against Lynes.

Low point was the shambles Duddy's career is in, from the Smichet fight to all this Irish Ropes/money/management nonsense.

Agreed McCloskey V Lynes was probably the best moment of the year for me.

Other high points for me were Sutherland beating Blanco in the Olympics, just a shame he was never at the races against Degale. I thought Andy Lee beating Willie Gibbs was another highpoint, coming back from your first defeat and beating Gibbs in the manner he did made a real statement and it was a great fight with an exciting finish as well.

Lee against Gibbs was a fantastic comeback fight. That last round was probably the most exciting round of the year.

This may sound mad, but my highlight was the Henry Coyle bout a few weeks back in
Castlebar. It was a stunning fight ad so exciting and with a real good story behind it.
Those two guys, especially the Russian, deserved their pay check 100 times over

Oh, and Egan and CO and Taylor achieving so much!

Not everyone will agree but seeing Andrew Murrays skills against Pete McDonagh, was one of the highlights for me. The score was something like 100-94 to Murray, but what really impressed me was the way he really controlled the fight.

What made the victory a little sweeter was seeing McDonagh beat up and coming Lee Purdy for the Vacant British Southern Area Title, in what was a great scrap on ITV 4, which McDonagh showed great heart. So Murray beat McDonagh and he wasn't shot to pieces.

Murray is very much capable of causing an upset against some of the better fighters in Europe but has never got the chance, hope the chances come in the New Year
