Hi, the wee fella is getting an Aspire One from Santa and I'm going to put XP on it. What I'm looking for is games and educational software that are freeware and suitable for primary school ages. Anyone come across anything? I'm concious that these netbooks don't have heavy duty CPUs.

What about something like Edubuntu instead on XP? It has a lot of stuff educational apps and games already built-in. Might be very basic for your needs though, depends on the age of your kid.

    Have a look here: http://www.edubuntu.org/Screenshots

I can't wait to dump the linux off as quick as I can. Tried installing a couple of game rpms - they went through ok but can I find the applications to start them up? Also the wlan can't find my phone Joiku hotspot so there'll be no surfing after Santa delivers and of course trying to install my N95 as a usb modem is too much fun.
