Hi ,recently bought resistance 2 and haven't opened it yet. I've read a few people saying they might buy the first game ,before playing R2.
Is there any sites that would provide a story of a game to read ,giving an insight into the games so you have an idea of whats going on.

I'm not miserable with money or anything ,it's just that at the moment I've got about 16 games for the ps3 and I just don't want to buy anymore.

    Thanks.

You don't have to play the first one, but it leads into the second one really well. For the sake of a tenner, get it for yourself. You can play though the first one in a couple of days.

I suppose ,by a tenner do you mean I might get it second hand ? That wouldn't be so bad.

Yes, or as Seanybiker says, rent it. Shedload of perfect second hand copies around though.

I finished R2 on Sunday and have to say that while the first game was good, the second is a definite improvement in terms of graphics, storyline and gameplay. R2 gets the old heart pumping when you are
being chased by the "newborn" chimera. You never know when they are going to hatch and jump out at you, usually while in a dark tunnel or creepy old house
    .

After Deadspace, R2 ranks as only the second game worth buying in 2008.

311, pick up R1 used in gamestop for a tenner.

Personally I wouldn't bother with R1. I lost all motivation to play it once I got about halfway through, found it very boring.

Thanks for the replies ,I went into gamestop there just now and they were looking for 25 euro for a secondhand copy.
It's a disgrace and they probably make a tax free profit out of it aswell.

Surprised at that. Local Gamestop here in Midleton has about 20 copies, and it was about a tenner last time I looked. €25 is ridiculous.

That is pretty bad TBH - I bought the Platinum version of Resistance 1 for €21.99 delivered from Play.com, brand new. A tenner for a second hand copy does sound reasonable and about the maximum amount you should spend.

I managed to order it on Shopto.net for 9.99 sterling and 3.50 signed for post.
I had to change the currency myself from euro to sterling ,so hopefully it will go through ok.
13.50 is not bad at all ,I can hopefully finish off dead space while I wait for it to be delivered.:)

    Happy chrimbo!

I normally try to have played the prequels of a game before I play the sequel but sometimes if I don't have the time/money etc. I read the plot summary on Wikipedia. :)

Should of read through wikipedia I suppose(don't have a habit of using it though ) ,but I didn't want too much generalisation of the game in case I played it.

Played through resistance in a few hours and I'm glad I did. It's stands well with good games even now I think
Resistance 2 would have been lacking if I hadn't had played fall of man.
