Advice re. Sky + stopped recording.

    Older type pace Sky + box has stopped recording completly. I have tried the usual reset and forced software update. It now works like an normal non Sky + box so this leads me to suspect the HD might have failed.
    Has anyone any experience of a similar problem. By the way I rang Sky to make sure that the + recording facility was enabled.
    I am considering replacing the HD which I understand is easy enough if one has a little experience, which I do.
    Anyone replaced one with an ordinary HD from PC World or did you buy one specificaly for the job.

    I bought this 250gb disk recently, when my disk failed, and it works great with capacity for approx 120 hours. The only problem is that the fan is now running 24/7 which appears to be a common problem when exchanging disks. I haven't figured out how to fix this yet. It arrived within a few days but obviously not in time for Christmas for you.
