CDWOW not replying at all, gone?

    Hi, sorry if this sort of thing has been posted already and yeah I know that cdwow are the worst in the world but never have they been this bad.

    I wanted to order some things but before ordering I went about mailing them, I asked if the items were in stock because we all know that even if the site has "In Stock" on the page it means nothing with them. They replied within the day, I remember it used to be within a half hour but with the Christmas rush and lots of people mailing I was ok with this. Their reply, three items were "In Stock" and ready for dispatch as soon as possible and the fourth was due in on the 12th, so much so they said that I should have seen it on the item's page stating the 12th as the date the stock was due in. So I went ahead and ordered the first three, I know this was foolish but their prices were nice and usually they come through in the end.

    I ordered a game and two cds, a day later and they were on their way which was nice and showed me that cdwow might be back at their best, so I took their word and ordered the fourth item, Halo 3 which was due in on the 12th because I wanted the item dispatched elsewhere for a present. I tried to leave it as long as possible to see if the item would be in stock or not but again I was hoping for a for a possible Christmas delivery so I ordered it. Come the 12th and no change on the site. I mailed them about the delay on their stock and within two hours they replied saying they were having delays with this item and I could cancel if I like.

    Now, one of the cds has arrived and I am hoping the other two arrive but Halo 3 is still not in stock and more interesting is the fact when I go into the My Orders part of the site and click on Halo 3 there it goes to a missing page, this used to work. I would click on this to save me searching for the actually page and see if there was any change on the due date. Now when I mail them and I have mailed them a good few times about this and wanting to cancel the order I am getting nothing back at all. A friend mailed them the other day about something but also checking if they would reply and got nothing.

    Now I know people are really annoyed with cdwow and that they have gone to the dogs but sometimes I have found they are grand and other times I will agree they are useless. I am just wondering, anyone else who happens to still use them having the same trouble? Maybe their mail system has crashed, but I can't see that being the problem. And sorry for the long post but better to get it over to you the right way.

    They're not gone, just useless. Re-send the cancellation request about 20 times, and someone who isn't an idiot, might see it.

    Well the other two orders arrived today, I was shocked to be honest but glad. The case on one of them in bits but the disc was ok so I will just swap out the case for another, couldn't be arsed complaining to cdwow over a case, not their fault.

    They also got back to me but even with my many requests for a cancellation on the delayed item the bulk of their reply was to say that they are experiencing delays on new stock for Halo 3 and that they are sorry for the delay in dispatching it. If I would like to cancel I was to reply and let them know. So I mailed back again, no smart ass remarks and said yes, I would like to cancel. Now begins the waiting game.

    Hi Op,

    I ordered some stuff for my boyfriend off cdwow on Nov 28th. I thought this would be in plenty of time for Xmas. I received one item last week but the other item lips game for xbox which cost me 50 euro has not arrived. I have sent them 3 emails in a week and not one has been answered. My boyfriend asked me to buy him this, i'm really mad because I ordered it a month ago and they havent even the manners to answer me. I cant find a phone number to ring them.

    They got back to me eventually but I still completely understand your frustration with them. I remember when they first started up they were the best site for customer service. They would reply within 10-30mins and if you ever had any trouble with orders not arriving you could just mail them and they would help you out. They certainly seem to have gone way downhill since.

    Like I said, I had to mail them around ten or more times (impatient I know but to hell with that) to get just one reply from them and even then their first reply back didn't acknowledge my request for a cancellation. So another mail from me was required to get the order canceled and that is sorted now.

    Even if they get back to you now, they are going to probably give you their usual rubbish of how they want you to wait a few more days to see if the order arrives, that there might have been problems because of all the Christmas mail going back and fourth. But with the fact you ordered Nov 28th you should be well in your rights for them to get their act together and help you out pronto. You ordered on the 28th but when did they dispatch the orders?

    I think in future I am going to have to remember that even though they have some lower prices on stuff, I would be better off spending that little bit extra on a different site knowing that I have some sort of chance of getting my order.

    As for a phone number for CDwow, there doesn't appear to be one, don't think there ever was. I know play.com have one and that they removed their e-mail support which is a bit of a pain. So you will have to keep mailing them, but fingers crossed the postman drops it in for you today.

    I've only ordered once from CDWOW and never again. Ordered 2 PS2 Games at the end of October for my nephew for Christmas. One arrived within a week or so, the other took 6 or 7 weeks, just in time for Christmas. However, my nephew tells me this week that he tried one of them and it doesn't work!!! My advice is steer clear!
