Can't connect to the internet

    Hi all,

Ok so I have been having this problem for a while now, but up until now I had another pc I have been using. My other pc is now on the blink so I have to get the internet working on this one. I started another thread here, because I originally thought that it was a networking problem, but after Avast found a few trojans, they recommended that I come here. (How long these trojans were present and what damage they may have done I do not know).

I recently installed and ran Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware and although a few things showed up, there were no more trojans or any major problems but to no avail. Avast doesn't show up anymore problems and I can always connect to the internet using safe mode with networking and a laptop I borrowed from work.

My most recent attempt this morning was to do a selective startup using msconfig allowing only services from microsoft and the original boot.ini but this still didn't work. I fear I may have to do a full re-install but I would prefer not to if at all possible.

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

    Thanks.
