    Hi

Once upon a time I was with the FCA based on the old Islandbridge barracks 2nd Field MP Coy, work commitments basically put and end to my service plus the terrible level of equipment at the time.

Anyway how can i get someone to confirm this in writing?

    Thanks
    zambia

TBH mate wait til after Christmas to chase up this information. You'll be hard pushed traking down the right people to answer your query over the next few weeks.

First place I'd try is this number (01) 804 2000 its DFHQ in Glasnevin and ask for the Human Resource Branch and tell them your plight.

If they can't help they will more than likely redirect you here (01) 8046000 its the switch extension for Cathal Brugha Barracks, Rathmines. Ask for Area Records and again tell them your plight.

if Area Records can't help then ring the above number again and ask for the Reserve DF offices start with the Orderly Room and tell them your story ask them can they put you on the right track.

Best of luck in your search. As I said wait til after Christmas, and the best time to catch anyone at their desk is about 1000-1100

OP most units break up for the Christmas today so like Larry said leave your quiries until the first week in the new year.

Other than what Larry has suggested I can't think of anything else.

Btw, you might also enquire if your entitled to your service medal too. I think FCA personnel have to complete seven years service for it.

If you've that done, chase that down too. Your entitled to it, and we can help with those enquiries too.

Remember ringing HQ last year about my dues of a medal, they just passed the buck onto someone else and they the same.

Ended up having to buy my own 7yr medal, still looking for a 12yr bar for my display cabinet.
