    Hi all
Have recently moved from PC to MAC. I always used Acid Pro etc on PC but now that iv changed over to MAC im thinking of purchasing Traktor, I have used the demo online but I am unsure if it is any good and worth the money as a lot of functions were unavailable in demo. Plus dials for cross fade, pitch etc etc are a bit slow.
Would be grateful of any help or suggestions towards another possible program.
    Thanks
    DJ

i use traktor pro i.e without any control vinyls or external decks, have 3 controllers i use with it

evolution uc33e -- use this as my mixer, control volumes of the decks, eq's, fx.
faderfox dx2 -- use this to control decks A & B in traktor, use it to load tracks, play, cue, sync tracks
m-audio trigger finger -- use this to control the third deck in trackor

half thinking of replacing the uc33e with a decent 4 channel mixer like the dj800 or allen & heath, but its handy for playing out with as i only need 1 channel on the clubs mixer, less hassle setting up which is handy nowadays seeing as theres a good mix of people playing serato, traktor scratch and then cd's, cuts out alot of messing this way i find.

Thanks Brian. Any advice for me on how to set up good system on MAC with Traktor, i have external decks and mixer but would be really handy if all that could be got rid of by using just MAC.
    My external set up is
2 decks are Pioneer CDJ200s and mixer is Pioneer DJM400

if you want to cut out using external decks and mixers then make sure you get traktor pro (not traktor scratch pro), traktor pro cost about 200 quid, which is a bargain really, get a decent sound card, another 200 quid or there abouts, just make sure whatever sound card you get has enough inputs, look around for a midi controllers, see which one would suit you best, heres a few options.

    evolution UC33e

nice faders and nobs for mixing but lacks buttons, so you'd prob want to get 2nd midi controller to work with it, something like the faderfox or trigger finger would be perfect for this.

theres a few dj specific controllers out there like this numark one, i dont like them personally, look very gimmicky

Why doesn't someone bring out a controller that has all in one? If it was reasonably priced they'd sell loads of them

I have the xponent with Torq which is excellent. Does all I need. I did try it with Taktor but it was a pain in the ass, I could not get it to work perfectly so gave up. Traktor pro is excellent though

The Hercules RMX is probably the closest you'll get to "all in one" at the moment, it also has phono inputs in's for vinyl control or using the mixer as a ... errrr mixer, im getting latancy of 7ms which is acceptable enough.

Unfortunatly vinyl control is only really via mixvibes or deckadance though seeing as NI use their soundcard as a hardware lock... grrrrrrr !!!

    what!
theres far better controllers oput there.vestax have a better controller out there at the moment.
if you eliminate the need for vinyl control(which is kinda poin tless coz its not going to be the same feel as turntables with a 5 inch disc)you have lots of options.
behringer have brough out a new effects mixer thats full midi assignable.

4 year old thread wakes up and realises there are plenty of 'one size fits all' midi solutions out there.
