hm whenever I've downloaded episodes of Las Vegas after they had been aired in the states the intro music was that elvis remix, a little less conversation but when I see it on tv over here its some lame ass song!! Puts me off big time

I wonder is the reason also down to royalties

I heard that the producers of the show had to talk to price of the rights down for the original airing of the show. Prehaps they didn't get the same deal for the DVD release.

It is rights thing. Unless they pay the cash then it wont be included.

To ask for your money back because of different music on the credits is a bit OTT imo.

Depends on how much the DVD was, if they are charging 30 to 60 euro I would ask for the money back.

Same with House. No Teardrop over here.

It's a bad reflection of a show that when you purchase a television series.. and the simple lack of specific music makes you want to ask for your money back.

I never watched skins but from what I gathered the Music is a huge part of the show.

Ahhh... never watched it either. Suppose it's fair enough.

As a 'Freaks and Geeks' fan (like myself), Elmo.. we can appreciate they spent almost 3 years trying to clear every piece of music in the show.

Obviously not the case with 'Skins'.. or Channel 4.

Really? What's on instead? I've only ever seen the american version apparently.

Fairly generic medical drama type music... Might have only been for the first 2 seasons. It's on the DVD boxsets as well.

the show is great but the music just made alot of the scenes fit... alot of the editing was done to the music and now its like a rte program with music thrown in to fill in the gaps...

yes its down to royalties but i paid a good price for them and was expecting the same as what i seen and heard on tv not some ****e pieace of music because they got it for free....

Paramount has done the same with recent DVD releases of Cheers, it's a pity alright.

well thanks for the warning, guess i wont be buying the dvds now =/

im pretty sure we had a thread about this topic before, and someone mentioned this also happened to the dvds of Cold Case.

music rights is also something thats preventing one of my favourite films from getting a dvd release(Richard Linklater's Suburbia).

i always thought the opening of House i saw on channel 6 was an instrumental version of Teardrop?(been a while since ive seen it mind)

On the dvds, the first season of House has the changed theme music. Subsequent seasons have the original "Teardrop" theme.
