its not much different though, is it?

theres a camera on the back, smaller camera on the inside, and they've dropped the GBA slot (means no Guitar Hero and other games like that)

also, they've apparently tightened security on it and its unknown whether or not all the R4 and DSTT cards etc etc will work on it.

Any word on how much it will cost??

Am not impressed with it myself, cameras pointless and losing the GBA slot is a disaster imo  There wasn't a thing wrong with the DS, why fix something that isn't broken..............................

Because piracy is really really really (times a million) easy.

Because to nintendo it was broken, it's way to easy to pirate games. I think the entire purpose of the dsi is to try to stop people using flash cards, chances are it'll be hacked relatively quickly (If it's not already)

As a total Nintendo whore I can't wait for the DSi, I've been putting off buying the Jap edition due to the lack of compatibility with , eventual, european DS Store games.
I also bollixed up my DS Lite, breaking one of the hinges and using copious amounts of Super Glue to make a repair, could do with a new one.
Interestingly, on Play-Asia the DS lites seem more expensive than the DSi, odd that, you can get a DSi there for around €180 with shipping, not bad at all, wonder what the euro price will be>

So it wont be region-free like the DS?

Will the DSi be more powerful than the lite?...as in better graphics etc..

Well everything Nintendo do recently is gimicky. Seriously, please Nintendo give us something more than "party games".

The DS software will remain region free, but DSi software, mainly network enables stuff, will be region specific, as will the console, which will be setup to access the regions local online Nintendo portal for game and app sales, downloadable content and the like.
It means it's the 1st handheld from Ninty with region protection of any sort and makes it that bit more of a headscratcher when deciding to import one, expecially as most other things are very similar between the DS Lite and DSi, camera apps aside.
