Hi I'm around Dublin after Christmas for the Leopardstown meeting and would like to bring my Aussie cousin who is over in Ireland for a month. We wouldnt be gamblers by any means and I was wondering which would be the best day,I can only go one day. I presume 26th is the busiest, most crack?

Ya you're right there. It's a day where there are more people there for the gargle and craic than the racing so your Aussie cousin should be more than satisfied.

Shame they've removed the reserve enclosure for this year, the old reserved enclosure bars will be packed.

You could always make your way down to Club 92. :P It just feels wrong being in that place during the daytime.

OP, I'd actually avoid Stevens' Day if I were you. It's jam packed and hard to get a drink or a bet on. The other days will have a good crowd, but the atmosphere is a bit more relaxed.

Yep - I tend to avoid St Stephens Day - Hope to make Monday for the Xmas hurdle.

The best day in terms of quality of racing is looking like it could be Monday for the December Hurdle, and also the crowd should be a lot more relaxed.

But if you want to go for the craic and not so much the horses, the Saturday is the day I would reccommend.
