Sky Sports Red Button Problem

    Today at 6pm I wanted to watch Spanish football via the red button on sky sports 1, but every time I pressed it an error message kept coming up (THERES A PROBLEM WITH YOUR VIEWING CARD) so I took out the viewing card and put it back in and the same problem kept happening, so I rang Sky and they told me to unplug the LNBS screw them back in power down the power back up still no joy. The guy who was very good couldn't figure it out. It was only after that I thought I'm only subscribing to Sky Sports 1 so maybe you have to subscribe to all the sports to access the red button. Anyone any ideas?

    Hi,

    I don't think it's because you've only subscribed to SS1. I have encountered this problem before by unplugging the mains power, leaving it off for a few minutes, and then plugging it back in. You have already tried this in a different guise, but do it again.

    Hmmm, that's very strange then. I read in an article yesterday though that quite a few people are having trouble with their Sky boxes. Could the card have been damaged somehow?; and are you sure that your last direct debit went through as payment to them? I remember one time that a payment didn't go through for me and I got that message coming up.

    I have the same problem and am also only subscribed to SS1. I will try plugging the box out/in tonight.

    I wonder if anyone else has the same problem. I'll try it again when the next live match is on, which I think is Stoke V Man Utd on Friday and if it doesn't work I'll give them a ring and ask them about only subscribing to SS1 only. Happy Christmas and New Year to Everyone on the Boards.
