The 2009 policing plan has been released, and can be read here (*Large File*).

    Some interesting tidbits:
    Garda Email Rollout
    Which should begin in Q3 of this year . . . :)

    Also:
    Garda Web site - Re-launch
    This will occur in Q1.

Next Sergeant in the making ^ ;)

Only messing, I can't believe they still don't have email accounts for Gardaí? 101 uses surely that would make whatever enquiries need to be made routinely much easier...

Besides the usual crap about tackling crime, is there any mention of sending CAB into Anglo Irish Bank to investigate "inapropriate" loans to executives???

This years document is much easier to read tbh and has some good clear points to achieve rather than the older and vaguer (sp???) from past plans. There is a bit of copy and psate but not much really and the nice pics really glossy it up!!!

Hate bumping old threads, but I notice that specific Garda section contact email addresses are beginning to appear on the Garda Website.:)

Blame the judiciary. Email is a legal landmine and is yet recognised by the courts as a 'legit' form of communication, especially in the context of Tort, but they can be used as evidence, especially in criminal cases, to prove 'intent'.

If it were up to them, all communications from the public to AGS would be handwritten on velum scrolls with quills and sealed with wax. The courts only recognised Faxes as late as eight years ago.

"Who are these Beat-less to whom you refer?"
    "A popular beat-combo, m'lud".

    ...etc etc.

So that's the government's next task - teach all judges how to use computers so they can understand what everyone else is talking about ;)
