Looking for an AK rail but...

its what i would consider an AK rail anyway and its in new ross aswell.

Yes, that was it - thanks for that. Didn't think to check that site. Where exactly on the receiver is that mounted?? Just looking at my AK here...and I'm really not sure how it works with the screws.

the mount linked to is for tm based designed, they use the screws on the bottom of the receiver , that holds the receiver and front section in place, as a mounting point, i don;t thing the g&g has these,

i thought the g&g ak comes with a side rail for mounting optics on?

It has some sort of plate on the side but no rail. Though the box it comes in does show a rail, though it also shows a scope and some type of flash hider as well. Thanks for those links.

yep that rail is for mounting optics onto, you can clamp Russian optics onto it, or you can clamp mounts like i linked to that allow you to use 20mm devices

EDIT: Never mind, sorry I was looking at that wrong. I see now how that works, the scope and mount are all one piece that clamps onto that piece. Thanks. Would it be cheaper to get the weaver rail though and just use that?

its a little strange to explain sometimes, might have to take some pictures, but a mount like the one linked above mounts onto the side rail and then you put your scope/red dot on top of that using the 20mm rail

Ok I get it now, thanks a lot much appreciated. I found this on airguns.ie (under the clothing section :P), it looks similar but from the picture I can't tell if it's the clamp system....

Where might I find such a mount on an Irish/UK Site? Don't want to have to wait eternity from ebaybanned....
